The final discussion on the assignment of this very important title was held in Krakow from 7th to 9th July 2017 and puts the seal on a path that began in 2007. Our city was the leader of the candidacy “Venetian Defense Works between 16th and 17th centuries. Stato de Terra – Stato de Mar “, which in Italy also involved Peschiera, Palmanova, as well as Šibenik and Zara in Croatia and Kotor in Montenegro. With this recognition, the Venetian walls are recognized by UNESCO as the 53rd Italian heritage and 11th in Lombardy.
