Hotel Petronilla is a boutique hotel in the very heart of Bergamo, in the central yet secluded position of the neighborhood San Lunardo from where paved street lead from modern Bergamo Bassa to Bergamo Alta, meeting there the Medieval and Renaissance. Easily accessible from the Milan-Venice motorway, it is the ideal base for walks in the times that the city offers.
In this small hotel the old world charm of yesterday coexists with the efficiency of the world of tomorrow, and in the professionalism of the hospitality team you find out-of-the-way service, cordiality and the very special attention to details, coming from cavalier’s days which gave birth to the conduct and the name of “courtesy” and tailor made hospitality.
[ PHILOSOPHY ]
There are great things that can be done only in small.
For example: the apple pie that we serve at breakfast, which sets off the effect of “the search of lost time”, is made according to a passed-on recipe from my mom using ingredients of my valley. It gets really good only in small quantities and is slightly different each time.
True hospitality on a human scale, since each person is different and unique, cannot be standardized.
We consider every guest staying with us as a guest of honor, and, at the same time, part of the family.
Hotel Petronilla is the home, the house in Bergamo for our guests, where to return often and always with pleasure.
Our definition of luxury is attention to detail, unsurpassed friendly service and tailored experiences in comfortable and elegant ambience.

My grandfather had an inn attached to a post office and horse exchange station in the Imagna Valley.
My father turned the old station with inn into a popular trattoria.
Me and my family made it a restaurant with the name “Posta”. Two of my
brothers have opened another restaurant, the “Frosio” beautiful and awarded with a Michelin star. In addition to cooking at the “Posta” I do enjoy making cakes and other small delights for my hotel. But all is from the same ingredients and the same traditions of my mother, and my grandmother, and my great-grandmother.

The bar and the kitchen instead speak the superior language, universally understood, from the delight on the palate, which makes everyone understand the quality of the ingredients, and the ways to cook them.
Heading the Petronilla team, Uta Wilmer, already hospitality manager of great professionalism, with long-standing experience in prestigious international hotels in Berlin, Rome, Capri, and the Middle East.
